"PLATINUM NOW, GRAMMY NEXT, LEGEND IN A YEAR - WATCH US"
A upcoming rap girl duo are the new stars in the rap genre. These girls are the first girl duo to ever hit platinum within eight weeks, eight weeks later everyone is wondering how they still done it.
TB are running the rap game as if they've been in the game for over a decade.
Teyana in TB said 'We can only thank God because God is the only reason why we made it here'
We asked the two girls how they made it this big so quick and if they're scared of dropping and becoming a one hit wonder.
Beatriz in TB told us that 'How can we only be one hit wonders? We're here for a reason, we're here to change up the season, we ain't going no where'
Everyone in the rap industry is surprised to see this happen because they're females. Music Producer T-Beatz said 'These girls have changed the system, certain niggas wondering if these females are really females son'
We asked TB the reason behind the name and they said 'We're called TB because we're sick..like TB'
Both girls coming from the projects in New York, Teyana wanting to be a video vixen and Beatrice wanting to be a doctor, these girls had no idea they'd end up this high in the rap game. At the age of 15, both Beatriz and Teyana met inside a school detention class. Beatriz said 'She started making beats and they were dope, I drop one line she dropped the next and we clicked just like that'
These girls have come from a school detention class to planning their world tour for their newest album 'DETENTIONS CANCELLED' we asked why their first album is labelled that specific label and Teyana said 'Well I came from detention to making 6 figure digit dollars, is detention really still happening to me?'
Teyana coming from an African American background she knew about the dilemma of African american artists in the music industry - one hit only artists and she really wanted to push herself away from that image, she wanted people to know she was there to stay.
Beatriz being from a Asian background, she wanted to prove to people, just because she's Asian doesn't mean she doesn't have a story to tell.
We asked the Duo girls how does it feel to be the first interracial rap duo and they answered 'We're just like Salt and Pepper, however we have more than salt and pepper in our bowl'

Mood Board
Moodboard
This Moodboard surrounds the genre of Rap. Here I have put different type of magazines so that it shows I understand the type of magazine I should be looking at for influence and ideas. I have also put icons such as money, girls and weed because those have been the 3 key topics within rap from the beginning however drugs never came into the rap industry until the 1990s.
As you can see the models I've used are famous rap figures such as Notorious BIG and Snoop Dog this shows my understanding of who is in the rap genre and how the models dress and portray them self on the magazine.
I have used different type of rap artist some being present rappers, others being old school rappers which shows I have understood that the rap genre has changed during the period of time, same with the rap image and the way rap magazines are presented.

Final Front cover magazine
Analysis
My school magazine was very succesful because I was able to do my initial design by gathering over 50 students to form an A* which supports the idea of my magazine being an A* edition magazine. The theme of my magazine was gold because gold is a colour recognised to be for the rich/high class so I'm using gold because it shows that st angelas provides rich grades and high quality grades. The sell lines are surrounding the button so that the button has most of the attention as it is containing exciting information. The banner is relating to the model picture and also the mast head because it is talking about the Grades being good. The button is red to help it stand out from the colour scheme. The banner is green and white because serviam is the St Angelas logo. The sell lines are also green so that it stands out. I used photoshop to blur the background so that the students are the main focus.

Contents Page Analysis
Contents
Lay out
In this magazine the lay out has invisible columns and also there is many pictures. Each picture has a type of relation to the page number. In the top right corner the magazine previews the front cover, the contents page follows the colour scheme of the front cover. The colours red, and white give it a sophisticated look. The texts used it very simple and short making it easier for the reader to engage into each topic. Each heading of a section is in bold making it clear of the different pages. In this contents page, it does not use the word 'Contents' it uses the word 'Issue 297' which may confuse the reader because it not very clear that this is the magazine content page.
Lay Out
This magazine only has one invisble column. Its divided the topic of the magazine into two such as the features and Fashion. This magazine is simple but effective, the colours used let the text stand out more and also let the model stand out more. In this magazine they've only used one model which may show that there isn't that much diversity within the magazine, most of the magazine may just be about one particular topic. Under the headings there are subheading, underneath the subheadings show a short text on what that page will be out, the subheadings allow the reader to know what the page is being about before reading the text, or if the reader wants to skim through the subheading allows the page to be generalized into a subheading
Differences
In the first contents page is more lively bold and colourful. the page has more than one column. The first column is pictures, the second column is images, with a review at the bottom and the third column has a preview of the front cover and the page numbers alongside headings and texts accompanying it. In comparison to the second contents page the second contents page does not have that much colour, however the colours work very well together. The simplicity used in the colour scheme and lay out is very effective. There is only one column, which shows order and the magazine is straight forward. It may also suggest that the first contents page has a different target audience, because they both have different specifications.

Student Magazine Ideas
ES-T-A* edition
Target Audience -
The target audience for my magazine will be Year 10-11 students which helps them academically and motivates them to work harder by rewarding them with prices.
Theme -
It is going to be a special edition about results, the magazines actual name is ES-T-A but because it is about results and it is enhancing the fact St Angela's had so many A*'s, I'm going to call it the A* edition.
Name-
The reason why I have called it ES-T-A because it sounds out STA and that is what St Angela's students call the school for abbreviation (slang)
Front Cover -
The front cover of my Magazine is going to be a group of upper school students (Year 11 and 10) making the form of an A * which will be used as the picture for the magazine. The reason I have picked the upper school is because they have Gold shirts and Gold is one of the colours I'm using for my colour scheme and Gold shows high class, seeing as St Angelas provides high grades.
Contents-
Pictures of Year 11 students (younger students look up to them) The pictures of the year 11 students will involve them in different activities such as studying and being happy (smiling, jumping) showing the results have put everyone in a good mood and also that the school has a lot to offer in the next up coming term. Each picture will have a number in the corner, which will be its page number and also the picture will have relation to the topic on that specific page (e.g page 6 about St Angela' winning basketball champions ship - picture of a St Angela's girl in a basketball kit)
Sell Lines
The sell lines will contain academic relations mainly because it is a results edition, its mainly focusing on the results, how to get the results and motivating them to work hard.

Student Mag Analysis
The Target Audience for this student magazine is University Students. The model is a picture of a University Student (age range 18-25) and he is holding books which may be the course he is studying, showing that he is University student.
Lay out
The magazine has a colour scheme of yellow and black, which gives it a simple look because they're not many colours used. White font is used to follow the scheme also. The models outfit goes very well with the colour scheme because he is wearing the colours black and white. The model is centre and also covering the masthead showing that the model may be an important figure in that university or it may show that the students in the university always come first. The model covering the masthead also shows that the magazine is well known on the campus
Sell lines
The language used for the sell lines is very simple and catchy, also they've used phrase that most university students would use such as 'Thank God Its Friday' and also they're talking about trends which are popular which will engage the reader more 'Why we love blackberrys' and 'make money on campus'
Conventions
This front cover does follow many conventions such as no text covering the model, by having a strap line and headline. There is a button and the button is in a different colour which makes it stand out more, showing its more a notice. There's a bar code showing that it has to be bought.
